The Jumbo Rocks area of Joshua Tree National Park has long been one of my favorite places to camp and explore. Surrounded by massive boulders weathered into shapes full of character, it feels like walking through an open-air gallery sculpted by time. Mornings here are especially quiet—the kind of quiet that slows you down and sharpens your awareness of light, texture, and form.
Cradled by Stone was created during one of those mornings, after the sun had risen and softened into a glow. Wandering with no expectations, I found this tree resting between two boulders, its branches casting delicate shadows across the stone. It was a simple moment, but one that carried the timeless stillness I’ve come to love about Joshua Tree.
