Death Valley National Park

Early morning light illuminates Manly Beacon and dances across the surrounding ridges. Early morning views from Zabriskie point in winter are worth every bit of the frozen fingers and watery eyes from the near-freezing temperatures. My lizard brain is barely capable of comprehending the fact that this area was once a lake that formed over nine million years ago. That lake dried over the next several million years giving us this rugged but beautiful landscape.

I hope you enjoy this image as much as I did creating it.
